The 4% Special Assessment ratio will be removed from properties transferred into a trust. However,state law provides that if residential real property is held in a trust and theincome beneficiary of the trust occupies the property as their primaryresidence, the property may qualify for the 4% special assessment ratio. A newapplication is required in order to be reconsidered for the 4% SpecialAssessment ratio. ADDITIONALLY, allapplicant(s) must show proof they are the income beneficiaries to the trust bysubmitting the trust for review.
The mortgage company also receives the tax information upon there request. Most mortgage company's receive a copy of the tax records electronically and pay taxes based on this file. You can contact the mortgage company to confirm if a notice was received or if a payment will be made.
For real property: Get an attorney to prepare a new deed and have it recorded at the York County Register of Deeds Office.
For mobile home: Contact the York County Building and Codes Department to find out what is needed to purchase a change of ownership permit.
If the mobile home was repossessed please contact the Assessor Office
If the mobile home was sold, the new owner needs to purchase a change of ownership permit through the York County Building & Codes
