Councilman Robert Winkler Elected to SC Association of Counties Board of Directors
York County, SC-York County Councilman Robert Winkler, District 3, has been elected to the South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC) Board of Directors. He has been elected to a four-year term; expiring on Dec. 31, 2021.
In a congratulatory letter, SCAC Executive Director Michael B. Cone, praised Councilman Winkler by stating, “You have demonstrated your dedication to improving county government in South Carolina and your ability to work with county officials from all aspects of local government to achieve this goal.”
As a member of the Board, Councilman Winkler will provide leadership and guidance toward the SCAC goal of, “Building stronger counties in South Carolina.”
“I’m honored to be elected to the SCAC Board of Directors,” said Councilman Winkler. “I look forward to providing input and ideas towards issues affecting SC County governments and local communities.
Councilman Winkler has served on the York county Council since January 2015. He was recently re-elected to a third term; beginning January 2019. He is Chairman of the York County Economic Development Committee; and, serves on the following York County Committees: Finance and Operations, Justice and Public Safety, and Transportation.
Councilman Winkler and his wife Gina live in York. He has three grown children and 12 grandchildren. He is a financial advisor with Edward Jones, with an established office in York since 2007. He has over 21 years of experience in management, and is very active in the community. Councilman Winkler is the past president of the Greater York Chamber, past president of the York Rotary Club, past Chair of the Released Time Bible Education of York District 1 Board, and past Chair of the board of directors of P.A.T.H. He earned the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) from the College for Financial Planning.
