[ARCHIVED] Business Success Extravaganza

Small Business Development Conference PIC

Description

In recent years, we've seen tragedy after tragedy .... disaster after disaster .... and businesses that are interrupted or completely demolished or caught off-guard by circumstances that the owners thought were beyond their control. But were they? Just about any crisis you can think of can be headed off or lessened if you know how to prepare in advance. You need to be prepared to try to avoid closure, even if it's only temporary. "According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), almost 40 percent of small businesses never re-open their doors after a (natural or fire) disaster, and for those that do, only 29% were still operating after two years." 60% of small to medium-sized businesses suffering a significant cyber attack never recover and go out of business within 6 months. One in three small business owners are sued even if they haven't made a mistake, and end up spending a large portion of their capital combating lawsuits.

DO YOU WANT TO RISK YOUR BUSINESS' FATE WHEN YOU CAN FIND OUT HOW TO BE PREPARED?

We have put together a full-day of information designed to get you fully prepared for some of the most common crises/disasters affecting small businesses. This is one conference you cannot afford to miss, for the sake of your business, your family's financial welfare, and the welfare of your employees.

Speakers include:

  • Daniel Eliot, Director of Small Business Education for the National Cyber Security Alliance

  • Sarah Pickhardt, SC State Emergency Management Division

  • Representatives of the Fire Marshall's Office, Police Department, and an attorney will also provide prevention information

Conference starts at 8:00 am at Winthrop University in the DiGiorgio Campus Center, Richardson Ballroom, and ends at 3 pm.  A buffet lunch will be served.  Certificates of Completion will be presented to those who attend the full day.
