York County Budget Information

The County Manager's Office has been working on  the FY 2021-2022 budget to recommend to York County Council. The top priority of County Management when preparing the budget is to provide the greatest value to the taxpayers of  York County.  Listed below is information regarding the recommended  FY 2021-2022 budget and budget process:


York County Council Workshop - Tuesday, April 13, 2021:


York County Council received the recommended budget from County management; as well as, an overview of the key elements within the budget from Assistant County Manager Kevin Madden.  The recommended budget provided to York County Council included the following Budget Message.  York County Council will continue to review the recommended budget and provide any necessary feedback.   


York County Council Meeting-Monday, May 3, 2021:

York County Council passed the 1st reading, title only, of the FY 2022 Budget Ordinance.  York County Council received an updated Budget Message with new items bolded. York County Council will continue to review the recommended budget and provide any necessary feedback.


York County Council Meeting-Monday, May 17, 2021:

York County Council passed the 2nd reading of the FY 2022 Budget Ordinance, with amendment made to redirect $300,000 allocated to the Convention and Visitors Bureau to the York County Capital Projects fund to be spent on parks capital projects. York County Council received an updated Budget Message with new items bolded. York County Council will continue to review the recommended budget and provide any necessary feedback.


York County Council Meeting-Monday, June 7, 2021:

York County Council passed the 3rd and final reading of the FY 2022 Budget Ordinance, with no countywide tax rate increase. The top priority of Council, as always, is to approve a budget with the greatest value to taxpayers. The County’s finances continue to remain strong with the highest credit rating of Aaa.  York County Chairwoman Christi Cox has written a letter to residents highlighting York County's strong finances and taxpayer friendly budget.  View the approved Budget Ordinance and updated Budget Message.
