York County Planning staff will present the proposed Lake Wylie Small Area Plan to the community on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 6pm to 7pm, in the Recreation Hall at YMCA Camp Thunderbird (1 Thunderbird Lane in Lake Wylie).
This community meeting will consist of a presentation and a Q & A opportunity with staff. Planning staff drafted the Small Area Plan using public input from the community meetings in September 2019 and this past March. The York County Planning Commission approved the plan on July 13, 2020. Next, the plan will go before the York County Council for final approval on October 19th.
The Lake Wylie Small Area Plan is meant to help guide the development and redevelopment of the area. The proposed plan identifies issues and sets forth policies to address those issues. Recommendations include incorporating many new provisions into the Lake Wylie Overlay District section of the Zoning Code.
