In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, York County Government developed an online interactive COVID 19 Resource Center that provides the public with real-time updates via dashboards. The Resource Center web address is as follows: www.yorkcountygov.com/covid19.
The Resource Center is a user-friendly tool to track the COVID 19 outbreak worldwide, within the state and locally. Additionally, the Resource Center provides COVID 19 information, preventive information, business resources, community demographics, links to local municipalities and local school districts, and social media updates from the County. Furthermore, the site provides a medical facilities locator; as well as, testing facilities as they become available.
The Resource Center is powered by Esri, which is currently being used worldwide in an attempt to report real-time, accurate COVID 19 data. Data for the Resource Center is also being pulled from the following organizations: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, US Census Bureau, Department of Homeland Security, Health Map-Boston Children’s’ Hospital, and local businesses.
The York County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) division created the York County Resource Center. York County GIS staff are responsible for overseeing the County’s baseline digital spatial databases and for providing state-of-the-art mapping and data services to County departments, citizens, local governments, and businesses.
