[ARCHIVED] York County Institute's Social Distancing Measures for County Council Meeting

council Meeting information

York County is continuing to monitor the progression of COVID-19 across the country and, in particular, South Carolina. Therefore, York County will institute “social distancing” measures for the Monday, March 16, regular scheduled County Council Meeting.

At this time, the meeting will proceed as scheduled at 6pm in the Government Center Building located in York.  The meeting will be open to the public. However, the County is urging anyone who has flu-like symptoms or is “high-risk” for contracting COVID-19 to refrain from attending the meeting. Additionally, if you have traveled outside of the United States or had close contact with someone who recently traveled outside of the United States and is sick, please refrain from attending the meeting. Whether you are sick, identify yourself as sick or are taking precautionary measures, please watch the meeting online from home.

How to watch the meeting from home:

Live stream online at www.yorkcountygov.com

Live stream on the County’s YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/user/ycgov

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the public is strongly encouraged to submit comments to Council via email. Comments can be submitted by email to the Clerk to Council at [email protected].

All comments received by 5pm on Monday, March 16, will be provided to County Council prior to the meeting.

Lastly, Council Chambers will be set up with limited number of chairs spaced apart for members of the public. The doors to Chambers will open at 5:30pm and seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Additionally, the County will have multiple televisions in the lobby for residents to view the meeting and two overflow rooms will be available to the public.

If you have any questions or need additional, please contact the Clerk to Council at (803) 628-3954 or [email protected].
