[ARCHIVED] York County Council Hires David Hudspeth as County Manager

County Manager Announcement



The York County Council has voted unanimously to hire David Hudspeth to be the next York County Manager. Hudspeth currently serves as Interim County Manager for York County, and before accepting the interim role he served as the York County Planning and Park Services Director.


“David’s experience and leadership will prove to be invaluable as York County continues to experience exponential growth,” said Chairman Michael Johnson. “In the past seven months, David has proven to be a strong leader who is solutions-oriented and able to build trust with a variety of stakeholders."


Hudspeth has 34 years of local government experience; 22 of those years in management. Career highlights include serving as Town Manager in Fort Mill for over 15 years; as well as, County Administrator for Bamberg County, SC, and City Administrator for the City of Mullins, SC. Additionally, Mr. Hudspeth served over 11 years in a variety of positions with the City of Rock Hill Planning and Engineering Departments.


“I am very proud to be selected to serve as York County’s Manager,” said Hudspeth. “I look forward to continue working with County Council, the York County staff and members of our community.”
