[ARCHIVED] York County Seeks Public Feedback on Draft Recommendations for the I-77 South Corridor Plan

corridor

The York County Planning Department seeks public comment on draft recommendations for the I-77 South Corridor Plan. The intent of the I-77 South Corridor Plan is to focus on maximizing economic development potential in the corridor while minimizing impact on adjoining residential areas.

The public can provide comment on the draft recommendations at the following public meeting:

When: Wednesday, December 18, 2019

Time: 5:00 – 7:00 pm (drop-in)

Location: Castle Heights Middle School

                  2382 Firetower Road

                  Rock Hill, SC 29730

The public is encouraged to drop in at any time during the hours of the meeting to view information about the corridor and learn about the results from the I-77 South Corridor Plan survey and the previous public input meeting. Additionally, the public will be able to ask questions of planning staff and provide in-person feedback on draft recommendations.

This summer, County Council and planning staff identified the I-77 South Corridor, defined as land south of the Catawba River within a two-mile buffer of Interstate 77, as one of several areas to study more closely. Much of the area is planned for “I-77 Corridor Employment,” a land use category intended to create jobs by attracting major employers in target industries.

For additional information regarding the I-77 South Corridor Plan, please contact Jonathan Buono, Assistant Planning & Development Services Director at 803-909-7188 or [email protected].
