The York County Planning Department is seeking public input for the Lake Wylie Small Area Plan. The Lake Wylie community has experienced transformative levels of growth. Currently, more than 2,400 single family lots and 250 townhome lots have been approved for development in Lake Wylie; while over 400 single family lots, 25 townhome lots, and nearly 300 apartments have been proposed for the community.
In an effort to better manage the growth and its impacts on the Lake Wylie community, the County has begun to prepare a small area plan. This plan will identify issues, and set forth policies to address those issues.
The first stage in the development of the Lake Wylie Small Area Plan is public input. This stage will include public meetings and other methods. With that said, the following link is to a survey to gather public input on how the community should accommodate new growth: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/lake-wylie-survey. Public input will be accepted until Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
Additionally, the public is invited and encouraged to attend a public input meeting regarding the I-77 South Corridor Plan. Drop in at any time during the hours of the meeting to view information about the corridor, ask questions of planning staff, and provide in-person input on the future of the area. Details of the public input meeting are as follows:
When: Thursday, September 26, 2019
Time: 5:00 – 8:00 pm (drop in)
Location: CSD Community YMCA
5485 Charlotte Highway, Clover
