Public Input Survey and Meeting: I-77 South Corridor Plan
York County, SC - The York County Planning Department seeks preliminary public input for the I-77 South Corridor Plan. This summer, County Council and planning staff identified the I-77 South Corridor (defined as land south of the Catawba River within a two-mile buffer of Interstate 77) as one of several areas to study more closely.
Much of the area is planned for “I-77 Corridor Employment,” meaning a land use category intended to create jobs by attracting major employers in target industries. The goal of the I-77 South Corridor Plan is to maximize this economic development potential while minimizing impact on adjoining residential areas.
Public comments will bring important insight into the area and its potential future. Therefore, the public can provide their personal input in a brief survey at the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/I-77_S_Corridor_Survey. Comments will be accepted until the close of business on Friday, October 4, 2019.
Additionally, the public is invited and encouraged to attend a public input meeting regarding the I-77 South Corridor Plan. Drop in at any time during the hours of the meeting to view information about the corridor, ask questions of planning staff, and provide in-person input on the future of the area. Details of the public input meeting are as follows:
When: Thursday, September 19, 2019
Time: 5:00 – 8:00 pm (drop-in)
Location: Castle Heights Middle School
2382 Firetower Road
