York County Council has accepted York County Manager Bill Shanahan’s resignation. His last day will be Friday, June 28.
During the transition period between now and the end of the month, Mr. Shanahan will work in conjunction with current Planning and Community Services Director David Hudspeth, who will serve as the Interim County Manager after the 28, and throughout the county manager candidate search period.
Mr. Hudspeth is well qualified with 34 years of experience in local government; 22 of those years in management. Career highlights include serving as Town Manager in Fort Mill for over 15 years; as well as, County Administrator for Bamberg County, SC, and City Administrator for the City of Mullins, SC. Additionally, Mr. Hudspeth served over 11 years in a variety of positions with the City of Rock Hill Planning and Engineering Departments.
The Council will initiate its search to hire a county manager in the most prompt and efficient timeframe.
