The York County Assessment Appeals Board has several vacancies that need to be filled. Vacancies are in the following County Council Districts: District 1, District 4 and District 6.  If you do not know what district you live in, please contact the Clerk to Council at 803-628-3954 or fill in your address at the following link: 


What are the Responsibilities of the York County Assessment Appeals Board?

The York County Assessment Appeals Board consists of seven members appointed by County Council; one member appointed from each Council District. The Board meets upon the request of a taxpayer/property owner when appealing the Assessor’s value estimate of the property under appeal. The Board reviews all pertinent information received from the taxpayer/property owner and the Assessor; then renders a decision by majority vote on the appeal.

How Often Does the Board Meet?

The Board meets on a “as needed” basis.
