[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Needed to fill Vacancies on the Assessment Appeals Board

The York County Assessment Appeals Board has several vacancies that need to be filled. Vacancies are in the following County Council Districts: District 1, District 4 and District 6.  If you do not know what district you live in, please contact the Clerk to Council at 803-628-3954 or fill in your address at the following link: https://maps2.yorkcountygov.com/ez/ 

 

What are the Responsibilities of the York County Assessment Appeals Board?

The York County Assessment Appeals Board consists of seven members appointed by County Council; one member appointed from each Council District. The Board meets upon the request of a taxpayer/property owner when appealing the Assessor’s value estimate of the property under appeal. The Board reviews all pertinent information received from the taxpayer/property owner and the Assessor; then renders a decision by majority vote on the appeal.


How Often Does the Board Meet?

The Board meets on a “as needed” basis.
