[ARCHIVED] Update to the Boil Water Advisory

water drop

York County workers located a large water leak on Heritage Boulevard in Fort Mill. There will be a disruption to water service beginning at 9:30 AM on Thursday September 28th, for approximately four hours.

If you are affected by the water outage or experience discolored or “cloudy” water you are advised to vigorously boil your water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Bacteriological samples are being collected in order to determine if there is a presence of bacteriological contamination in the water system. Customers should continue to BOIL the water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking/cooking until notification otherwise by York County Water/Sewer or SCDHEC.

SCDHEC has been advised of the action by the York County Water/Sewer Department and is aware of the status of the situation.

If you have any questions concerning this notice, you may contact York County Water/Sewer at (803) 818 6512 or SCDHEC at (803) 285 7461.
