[ARCHIVED] Emergency Management Leadership Receives Great Honors

Sheriff PIC

Congratulations to the following Emergency Management employees who received great honors at the York County Sheriff's Office Annual awards:
Chuck Haynes, Emergency Management Director; and,
Mike Channell, Emergency Management Deputy Director.
Both were honored with the Lifesaving Medal and The Medal of Valor:

The Medal of Valor may be awarded to an individual for an exceptional act or execution of duty performed in the presence of great danger and personal risk, without endangering or jeopardizing the lives of others, and performed in such a manner as to clearly indicate that the individual displayed outstanding ability and judgment in the performance of duty.

The Life Saving Medal may be awarded to an individual whose decisive actions save the life of another person.  An individual deserves this award where that individual renders first aid to another who is in imminent danger of succumbing to an injury or illness and where an individual safely removes another from a life-threatening situation
