***** The York County Office of Emergency Management is in close coordination with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division and National Weather Service.

***** Hurricane Michael is now a tropical storm and moving through the state. Tropical storm Michael is located approximately 40 miles West/Northwest of Columbia SC. Rain fall totals expected are approximately 3-4 inches depending on the speed of tropical storm Michael. The tornado threat continues to diminish. Currently tropical storm Michael is moving at around 21 mph.

***** Possible impacts from Tropical Storm Michael: down trees, power outages, and localized flooding.

***** We encourage citizens of York County to review your emergency plans and prepare for possible power outages, fallen trees, heavy rain, and wind.
