[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Florence Update

York County Emergency Management Logo

Hurricane Florence Update as of 11:00am on Sept. 11, 2018.

**** We are currently monitoring the storm system in coordination with the State Emergency Management Division. There is still a lot of uncertainty with the path of Hurricane Florence. We are urging citizens to continue to prepare for the possibilities of impacts from this storm.

***** Evacuees are now making their way into York County. We ask that you remain vigilant of increased traffic around the area.

****** Currently there are no shelters opened in York County; however, we are in coordination with agencies that coordinate shelter operations, in the event they are needed.

******* We want to remind pet owners that we will coordinate sheltering of pets if the need arises; however, pets may not be in the same location as the pet owner.

******** The Office of Emergency Management does not provide sand bags. Citizens who are looking for sand bags may want to check local hardware stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, and Southern States.

Please know that we are busy coordinating all operations and making sure York County is prepared for the possibility of severe weather. Please stay tuned for more information as this develops.
