Vice-Chairwoman Christi Cox is a native of York County and is a Republican representing District 5. Christi and her husband Michael reside in District 5 along with their 3 children Courtnie, Kendall and Porter. Christi graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College in 1996 and earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from U.S.C. School of Law in 2002. She is a founding member of Hamilton Martens, LLC, a law firm located in Rock Hill, which practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation and defense.
Christi and her family are members of Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church. Christi is committed to serving her hometown and has volunteered in various capacities on numerous local and state boards and non-profit service organizations. Her most recent volunteer work includes her service as Secretary of The Haven Men's Shelter, President of the York County Bar Association, Board Member for the South Carolina Board of Accountancy, and basketball coach for a local youth teams.
Since being elected to serve on the York County Council, Christi has served as Chairman of the Justice and Public Safety Committee (2015-18), and Chairman of the Pennies for Progress Ad Hoc Committee (2015-18).
