Owner Responsibilities

York County Animal Control would like to take this opportunity to provide you with tips on being a good pet owner.

Remember to always provide your pets with:

  • Humane care and treatment
  • Veterinary care when needed to prevent suffering

Pet Related Laws

In York County, dogs and cats are also required to get a yearly rabies vaccine. Dogs must be fenced in, kept on a leash or under the control of their owners at all times when outside. It is also illegal for animals to stray onto other private property without the property owner's consent.
