Geographic Information Systems

If you need help with:

Functions:


  • Coordinates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and information exchange efforts for York County Government.
  • Acts as curators of the County GIS data assets.
  • The GIS division adds value to data by turning them into higher-level information products for decision making.
  • Assists staff in any department with GIS instruction, field data collection, and map making.

Responsibilities:


York County GIS is a division of the Information Technology (IT) Department.  GIS staff are responsible for overseeing the County's baseline digital spatial databases and for providing state-of-the-art mapping and data services to County departments, citizens, local governments, and businesses. The GIS division of IT provides support to county departments in the maintenance of their data assets.
