PHOTO ID REQUIREMENTS ARE NOW IN EFFECT IN SOUTH CAROLINA


When voting in person, you will be asked to show one of the following Photo IDs:
  • SC Driver's License
  • SC Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card
  • SC Voter Registration Card with Photo
  • Federal Military ID
  • US Passport
Voters who cannot get a Photo ID should bring their paper voter registration card without a photo with them to their polling place. These voters can then sign an affidavit swearing to their reason for not being able to get a Photo ID and vote a provisional ballot. Absentee Voting

  • In Person Absentee Voting is located at the York County Voter Registration Office in Downtown York
  • Address: E.C. Black Building, 13 S Congress Street, York, SC 29745
  • Photo ID is required to vote absentee in person.
  • Days and Times:
  • Begins: Monday, October 6th at 8:00 A.M.
  • Ends: Monday, November 3rd at 5:00 P.M.
  • Weekly: Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
  • Weekends: To Be Determined
  • Absentee Voting By Mail - Print Your Absentee Ballot Application Today!
  • Photo ID is not required to vote absentee by mail.

  • 1: Request an Absentee Application via online, mail, email, fax, or in person.
  • 2: Receive and Sign the Absentee Application.
  • 3: Return the Application to VR Office via mail, email, fax, or in person.
  • 4: VR Office provides an Absentee Ballot to the Voter.
  • 5: Voter Returns Absentee Ballot to VR Office prior to 7:00 P.M. Election Day.

  • You will need:
    (1) Access to a computer with a printer in order print the application and,
    (2) the Acrobat® Reader® software must also be installed prior to starting this process.
  • Download, Print, Sign & Date your personal absentee application.
  • Signed applications must be returned by mail, email, fax, or personal delivery.
  • Note: If you were unable to print your application, contact our office immediately.
