KYCB History

Keep York County Beautiful (KYCB) is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and was officially commissioned as a York County board by Ordinance No. 710 on February 1, 2010.





After an initial precertification assessment and establishment of baseline conditions within the county, board members were selected and a board training and a swearing-in process were conducted in May 2010.

Education/Public Relations

  • Event recycling
  • Recycling, litter prevention and water quality presentations
  • Promote Green Teams in churches and community organizations

Litter Reduction and Beautification

  • Improve areas county wide that are considered eyesores or illegal dump sites
  • Promote natural beautification areas to reduce mowing and upkeep
  • Gateway Gardens

Waste Reduction and Recycling

  • Promote apartment community recycling
  • Educate and engage businesses in waste reduction practices

What is the significance of the KYCB logo?
The KYCB logo depicts York Countys' active interest in protecting our landscapes and waterways, which in turn, provide our citizens an exceptional community in which to live, work and play!
How can I adopt an area to clean?
