The Clerk of Court's Office keeps land records, deeds and legal descriptions of property that date from the 1700's to the present.

The office also selects jurors, issues passport and notary public applications, monitors child support payments and maintains court records above the magistrate level. These records include divorces, legal documents, financial liens and civil judgments. The Clerk of Court's Office does not issue marriage licenses. Please contact the Probate Court Office at (803) 684-8513 to obtain copies of marriage licenses.

To obtain birth or death certificates, please contact the York County Health Department at (803) 909-7300.

An elected Clerk of Court, who serves a four-year term, manages the department's four divisions.

The real estate and civil divisions of the Clerk of Court's Office are located in the York County Courthouse in downtown York. The criminal division is located at the Moss Justice Center on Highway 5 near York, and the family court division is located at the County Office Complex on Heckle Boulevard in Rock Hill.
