You may check your voter registration status online or call the York County Registration and Elections Office at (803) 684-1242.

You may register in person at the Registration and Elections Office or download a mail-in application On-Line at SC State Election Commissions web site. Additionally, you may pick up a mail-in registration form at any public library in York County, complete the information and mail it to your county of residence in South Carolina. You may also register at the Department of Motor Vehicles when you renew or get a new drivers license. Other service agencies where you can register include; the Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health, Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Department of Disabilities, and Special Needs, Commission for the Blind, S. C. Protection and Advocacy for the Handicapped and Military Recruitment Offices.

You may check your voting precinct and location by visiting voter registration online and obtain directions from that site.  If you know your voting precinct, you may click on voting locations to find a complete listing of precincts and street addresses.  

The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for all elections.  As long as you are in line by 7:00, you are eligible to vote.

You may be eligible to vote using an absentee ballot. Absentee voting is allowed if you are unable to go to the polls for a number of reasons. A complete list of qualifications can be found at the SC Election Commission web site. Absentee voting can be accomplished totally by mail, if the voter allows enough time.

The requestor must also be a registered voter in South Carolina and provide their voter registration number, address and relationship to voter.

Your representatives are based upon where you live in the county. Most elected officials represent voters in a particular area or voting district; therefore, please be sure your address is always current. You may find your voting districts by viewing your voter registration online status. After you secure your voting district codes, you may find your particular representatives by clicking on Elected Representatives.
