Spay and Neuter Program
Minimize

The overpopulation of unwanted animals is a serious problem nationwide. Each year, more than 7,500 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are put to sleep in York County alone.

To help reduce this problem, animals adopted from the York County Animal Shelter must be spayed or neutered so they will not reproduce. The shelter's adoption fee is $77.00. Seventy one dollars of the fee pays the expense of the spay/neuter operation for adopted animals. The remaining six dollars pays for a rabies vaccination.

To find out more about the spaying or neutering of adopted animals, call Animal Control at 628-3190.
