Local Government GIS Symposium

The Twin Rivers GIS Users sponsored a Local Government GIS Symposium that showcased GIS in York County. Attendance for this event numbered 72 including 3 exhibitors.

The Symposium was based on the “Beginnings of GIS” in a local government. Attendees were given a first-hand look at collaboration between York County and the City of Rock Hill governments as well as the collaborative GIS relationship held with the City of York and the Town of Clover.

After a session on “Single-Point Addressing in York County, SC – A System That Works”, attendees saw how York County and Rock Hill are using GIS successfully to serve their customers.

Future meetings are planned that will showcase GIS advancement in our 5-county area as well as new technology from ESRI and ESRI Business Partners. The meetings will be designed to assist you with your GIS and promote networking opportunities.

If you missed this meeting and want to get on board, contact Bryan Townsend at 803.684.8570.
