York County has received a grant from FEMA to replace the Goose Hollow Road bridge,located in western York County. The bridge spans over Guyon Moore Creek. The new bridge will be raised approximately 5 feet and the center pier will be removed - both are efforts to reduce flooding of the bridge and surrounding lands. The bridge itself has been washed-out 7 times in the last 18 years.

The project construction is to begin in January 2009. Starting on January 20, 2009, the road will be closed to local traffic only. Construction is scheduled to last until July 2009.
