York County Stormwater has purchased a global positioning device (Trimble GEO XM Pocket PC) to conduct stormdrain mapping throughout the County. In addition to underground pipes and roadside ditches, we will be mapping permanent Best Management measures (aka BMPs) like detention ponds, water quality ponds, retention ponds, drainage easements, rain gardens, etc. We are currently working in residential subdivisions.
Flyers are being placed in paper boxes or near the front doors of residents to alert you of our presence. Since many of these subdivisions are currently under construction, we may be required to return to the areas on numerous occasions to finalize our mapping. We appreciate your assistance and patience in this endeavor. |
